Invited candidates still have to meet eligibility and admissibility requirements under Canada\u2019s immigration law (<em>Immigration and Refugee Protection Act<\/em>).[\/mk_mini_callout][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/mk_page_section][mk_page_section padding_top=&#8221;50&#8243; sidebar=&#8221;sidebar-1&#8243;][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][mk_fancy_title color=&#8221;#163051&#8243; size=&#8221;24&#8243; force_font_size=&#8221;true&#8221; size_tablet=&#8221;20&#8243; size_phone=&#8221;20&#8243; font_family=&#8221;none&#8221;]Step 1) Potential candidates complete an online Express Entry profile[\/mk_fancy_title][vc_column_text]The online Express Entry profile\u00a0is a secure form that potential candidates will need complete which\u00a0will be used to provide information about their:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>skills,<\/li>\n<li>work experience,<\/li>\n<li>language ability,<\/li>\n<li>education, and<\/li>\n<li>other details that will help us assess them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Those who meet the criteria of one of the federal immigration programs listed above will be accepted into a pool of candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who does not already have a nomination from a province or territory, or a job offer supported by a\u00a0Labour Market Impact Assessment\u00a0(LMIA) (if you need one), must register with Employment and Social Development Canada\u2019s (ESDC) Job Bank. The Job Bank will then help connect Express Entry candidates with eligible employers in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Using job boards &amp; recruiters, etc. or other ways, candidates are also encouraged to promote themselves to potential employers.<\/p>\n<p>The LMIA process ensures employers have made an effort to hire Canadians and permanent residents for available jobs. For a job offer to be valid in Express Entry and receive points, employers will need an LMIA from ESDC. There will be no LMIA fee for permanent resident applications.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][mk_fancy_title color=&#8221;#163051&#8243; size=&#8221;24&#8243; force_font_size=&#8221;true&#8221; size_tablet=&#8221;20&#8243; size_phone=&#8221;20&#8243; font_family=&#8221;none&#8221;]Step 2) The highest-ranking candidates in the pool will be invited to apply for permanent residence[\/mk_fancy_title][vc_column_text]The Comprehensive Ranking System is a point-based system which will be used to rank candidates against others in the pool. Points will be\u00a0awarded using the information in their profile.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates with the highest scores in the pool will be issued an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cic.gc.ca\/english\/immigrate\/skilled\/invitations.asp\">Invitation to Apply<\/a>. Candidates will be awarded points for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a job offer, and\/or<\/li>\n<li>a nomination from a province or territory, and\/or<\/li>\n<li>skills and experience factors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A candidate can get additional points for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a job offer supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment, or<\/li>\n<li>a nomination by a province or territory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These additional points will make a candidate rank high enough to be invited to apply at the next eligible round of invitations.<\/p>\n<p>If someone is invited to apply, they will have 90 days to submit an online application for permanent residence.<\/p>\n<p>Citizenship and Immigration Canada intends to process the majority of complete applications (meaning those with all the necessary supporting documents) in about six months. (Some limitations apply.)<\/p>\n<p>Candidates can stay in the pool for up to 12 months. If they do not get an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence within 12 months of submitting an Express Entry profile, they may submit a new profile. If they still meet the criteria, they can re-enter the pool.
